The work is signed Emile Gauffriaud, a French landscape painter, who was born in Brest.

Emile Gauffriaud (1877-1957), a French painter who loved to paint outdoors where

painted canvases bathed in southern light. He travelled to the Côte d'Azur and the South of France.

The oil painting dresses in a carved and lacquered wooden frame, coeval with the antique painting.
