Flowers artwork, oil painting, floral vase painting which represents Roses. Art Deco.

It should be noted that the beautiful carved and lacquered wooden frame is original and coeval, 1930s.

It is a painting on canvas, still life, from the early 1900s, representing roses in a ceramic vase.

The oil on canvas painting dates back to the twentieth Century and it takes part of Bisgart Collection of Antique

Paintings of the 20th Century. This floral oil painting is signed in the top left by Dubost Michel,

a French painter of portraits, still lifes and nudes.

Dubost Michel (1879-1952), was born in Lyon where he studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts and in 1920

became a professor in floral painting. From 1923 to 1933 he was a textile designer at the Ducharne company.

He then founded a textile design school in Paris in 1933. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes in Paris between 1935 and 1936.

In 1935, he exhibited at the 'Salon Des Tuileries' and later in Paris at the 'Salon Des Artstes Indépendants'.

The frame and the painting are carefully and professionally restored.
