Émile Boulard (1861-1943) was born in Champagne-sur-Oise, the second son of Auguste Boulard, among his father's painter friends including Corot.

He was a member of the jury of the 'Salon Des Artistes Français' and exhibited at the 'Salon de la Sociétaire Nationale des Beaux- Arts'

and became a member in 1896. He received many awards and a silver medal at the 'Exposition Universelle' in 1900 and a gold medal at the 'Philotechnique'.
