The Antique Sculpture, Panther proposed here was made of Antimony Metal in the Art Deco period.
Original 20th century patina. Epoch first half of the 20th century.
The work expresses strength, elegance and physical agility. The sculpture is signed on the paw M. Leducq.
Leducq Marcel Michel Edouard Marie (1879-1955) was a French sculptor active in the period between the 1920s and 1930s.
His masters were Mercié and Peter. He participated in the Salon des Artistes Français
and was awarded a “Mention Honorable” in 1909.
He was a sculptor of animals, expressing power and agility typical of the Art Deco period.
The sculpture proposed here is in antimony, a zinc-based alloy.
