Carl Kenzler (1872–1947) trained as an artist in Berlin and was active from the late 19th century through the early decades of the 20th century.
His work is characterised primarily by seascapes, coastal scenes, winter landscapes and natural landscapes, in which he sought to portray the natural
environment and the effects of light and atmosphere. The coastal landscapes of northern Germany, the island of Sylt, the Baltic Sea and the Lüneburg Heath
played a particularly important role in his artistic career.
The painting is presented in a beautiful lacquered wooden frame, original and contemporary with the artwork.
Both the frame and the painting have undergone careful, professional restoration.
